MIL-STD 461 & DO-160 Chambers
Cuming-Lehman Chambers MIL-STD 461E/F test chamber is specially designed for testing in accordance with the military standard.MIL-STD 461 SHIELDING SYSTEMOur MIL-STD 461F/DO-160 enclosure is modular panel construction; the panels are a laminate of 26 gauge, electrolytically deposited zinc sheet steel laminated to both surfaces of ¾” thick solid, (structural) core material. These panels have a flame spread of 20 minutes or less as rated by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. The panels are joined by specifically designed framing members that clamp the edges of the panels and provide constant, low impedance joints with the shielding elements of the chamber. Weld nuts are on 3” centers and our corners are welded; no screws are used and nothing penetrates our chamber.

Antenna Measurement Chambers
Antenna measurement chambers can be utilized to make far-field antenna pattern measurements. These chambers are designed either in a rectangular or tapered configuration depending on the frequency range of interest. Rectangular Antenna Measurement Chambers, like the one shown above, are the most common type of Antenna Chamber. The chamber size is dependent on the frequency range and the quiet zone size required.

Three Meter Fully Compliant Chambers
3 Meter Fully Compliant semi-anechoic chambers offer semi-anechoic radiated emissions (RE) and fully anechoic radiated immunity (RI) compliance test capability for most international EMC compliance regulations.

Compact Range Chambers
Most antenna measurements need to be carried out in the far field; that is, the test antenna should be illuminated by a plane wave. Typically this is carried out by providing sufficient separation between the source and the AUT so the spherical wave approaches a plane-wave character.

Pre-Scan Emissions/Immunity Chambers
3m pre-scan Immunity/Emissions semi-anechoic chambers are designed to perform ANSI C63.4/CISPR 16-1-4 and IEC 61000-4-3 compliant radiated immunity and emissions measurements. When using this chamber for ANSI C63.4 pre-compliant radiated emissions pre-scan measurements there’s a limited scan height.

Tapered Anechoic Chamber
It’s nearly impossible to perform VHF/UHF measurements in a rectangular chamber. In the 1960’s Emerson determined that tapering one end of an Anechoic Chamber would cause the chamber to act like an indoor ground reflection range.Tapered Chambers work very well at the lower frequencies. Their design forms a uniform illumination across the test region. The tapered end of the chamber forces the wall images close together forming a source antenna array. Tapered Chambers are usually a less expensive option compared to rectangular antenna measurement chambers or compact ranges.

PIM Chamber
Passive Intermodulation (PIM) occurs when two or more signals are present in a passive device (cable, connector, isolator, switch, etc.) that exhibits a nonlinear response.PIM chambers vary in size and design depending on the size of the DUT; a typical PIM requirement is -110dBc or more. Cuming Lehman Chambers has successfully provided PIM Chambers with measured levels in excess of 150dBc.

Near-field Chambers
Most antenna measurements need to be carried out in the far field; that is, the test antenna should be illuminated by a plane wave. Typically this is carried out by providing sufficient separation between the source and the AUT so the spherical wave approaches a plane-wave character.Near-Field chambers are an excellent alternative to traditional far-field ranges; testing that can be accomplished on a far-field range can be accomplished on a Near-Field test range. This method of testing allows an operator to employ an indoor anechoic test chamber at a reasonable cost and avoid the problems associated with weather and security concerns often encountered when using an outdoor test range.
