LUZCHEM RESEARCH entered the manufacturing field with the construction of photoreactors for the Pulp and Paper industry. The company has continued to refine and develop the photoreactor line and in 1999 reached an agreement with the University of Ottawa for the design, development and manufacturing of a patented miniaturized Laser Flash Photolysis System (mLFP).

Computer Controlled Photoreactors
Luzchem has developed the latest in exposure chamber technology. Our new computer controlled photoreactors (CCP-4V and CCP-ICH2) are fully computerized using a USB interface. These photoreactors will automatically log exposure conditions and optics used. New integrated power sensor will also log the intensity of the light output. Ideal for pharmaceutical testing and any other industry with stringent documentation requirements.

Xenon Illuminator
Luzchem's Xenon Illuminator was recently developed for use with photovoltaic cells. It is also being used with Luzchem’s transient absorption laser flash photolysis and time-resolved diffuse reflectance systems. Customers can expect the Xenon Illuminator to be useful for a wide range of spectroscopy applications including photovoltaic testing, laser photolysis monitoring, UV exposure, and as a microscopy light source.

Photoreactors And Exposure Tools
Top irradiation is ideal for solids, paper and some biological samples; while side irradiation is usually preferred for liquids. Different wavelength ranges in the UV and visible regions are available from both broadband fluorescent lamps, LED lamps and xenon lamps. Fluorescent lamps are compatible with many Rayonet reactors including RPR-100, RPR-200 and RMR-600. Various configurations of photoreactors are available.

Thin Film Analyser
TFA
The TFA instrument has be designed to monitor dissolution rates with a minimal volume of developer, typically ≤ 1 ml. The design uses surface tension to hold the developer in a small gap between the sample and the detector head. The instrument allows multiple measurements on the same sample. Thickness measurement can be made in the same geometry as dissolution measurements.
