QWED Sp. z o.o.
QWED is a dynamic hi-tech company, set up in 1997 and based in Warsaw, Poland. Being a happy blend of academic researchers, microwave engineers and computer experts, we develop and produce QuickWave electromagnetic simulators of supreme accuracy, tailor-made to users' needs in a friendly format, several types of resonators for precise measurements of electromagnetic properties of materials at microwave frequencies and Microwave Frequency Q-Meter - an inexpensive computer controlled microwave oscillator system that enables quick and automatic measurements with a dedicated resonators.

Three-Dimensional Electromagnetic Simulation Package
QuickWave-3D
QuickWave 3D (QW-3D), is a universal user-friendly three-dimensional electromagnetic simulation package (winner of the European Information Technology Prize in 1998) based on the conformal FDTD method and supplemented with a range of unique models for curved boundaries, media interfaces, modal excitation, and parameter extraction. Complete 3D electromagnetic simulation offer a set of various results from wide area of applications. A lot of processing/postprocessings present a complete offer of comprehensive solutions from microwave components (filters, couplers, resonators, etc.) through antennas, TDR applications, optimisation and parameters sweep to simulation of microwave heating process (with Basic Heating Module) with temperature dependent media, static, rotated or moved heated object(s), and heat transfer.

Vector 2D Electromagnetic Solver
QuickWave-V2D
QuickWave V2D is a unique on the market and ultra fast Vector 2D (QW-V2D) electromagnetic solver is applicable to the analysis of axisymmetrical devices (which are also called Bodies Of Revolution) as large as 2100 wavelengths, including antennas (horns, rods, biconical), circular waveguide discontinuities, and resonators. It is based on the Maxwell equations re-expressed in cylindrical coordinates. Definition of a 2D long-section of the structure allows for hundreds times faster simulation than brute force 3D analysis.

Basic Heating Module
Microwave heating analysis including loads rotation and translation, frequency tuning, heat flow and material parameters modification as a function of dissipated power. QW-BHM (Basic Heating Module) for QuickWave 3D provides a novel regime of operating the FDTD solver: the possibility of simulating microwave heating problems. The software has been prepared to work in sophisticated regimes, modelling rotation and movement of the heated load(s) even along complicated trajectories, etc. Transfer of the heat generated by electromagnetic fields can be modelled with external or internal Heat Transfer Module or by coupling QuickWave 3D simulations to external computational fluid dynamics packages.

EM Software
QuickWave
QuickWave is a general-purpose electromagnetic simulator based on the conformal FDTD method and supplemented with a range of unique models for curved boundaries, media interfaces, modal excitation, and parameter extraction. It has a well-established position on the worldâs market due to approaching specific, challenging problems (often bound to QWEDâs specialists participation in the customerâs projects as consultants). That kind of approach causes that QuickWave has a very broad variety of information which can be extracted from the simulations in a form of different pre-processings, co-processings and post-processings.

QW-AddIn For Autodesk® Inventor® Software
QW-AddIn for Autodesk® Inventor® Software is a QuickWave plug-in for Autodesk® Inventor® Software, a wide-spread mechanical tool, allowing defining a complete project for electromagnetic simulation, also periodic structures and axisymmetrical structures (V2D), directly in the popular CAD environment. A set of self-explaining dialogues provides very convenient tool for setting the electromagnetic properties such as assigning the materials, adding ports, boundary conditions, setting postprocessings and excitation parameters.Automatic mesh generation using Automatic Meshing Intelligent Generation Option (AMIGO) optimises the meshing taking into account requested wavelength resolution in all media, while avoiding unnecessarily small cells. Additionally QW-AddIn for Autodesk® Inventor® Software can be used for optimisation and parameters sweep with QW-OptimiserPlus.QW-BHM is available and heating parameters can be defined together with rotation in XY plane along axis parallel to Z axis. Creating proper axis of rotation can be done by selecting edge or solid body from the project. It will contain the middle point of selected object and its location can be modified either with the mouse or by entering new coordinates.

QW-Modeller For QuickWave
QW-Modeller for QuickWave is a workbench for the open source FreeCAD general purpose parametric 3D CAD modeller (http://www.freecadweb.org). FreeCAD features tools are similar to Catia®, SolidWorks®, or Solid Edge®. It is a feature-based parametric modeller with a modular software architecture, which makes it easy to provide additional functionalities without modifying the core system. The CAD capabilities of FreeCAD are based on the OpenCasCade® kernel, a professional-level CAD kernel, featuring advanced 3D geometry manipulation on complex shape types, a wide range of geometric entities, boolean operations and fillets, and built-in support of STEP and IGES formats.

GPU Computing
QW-GPUSim is a very fast version of QW-Simulator designated for massive parallel computing hardware. It incorporates parts of QW-Simulator code re-written by QWED in OpenCL. This strategy stabilises QW-GPUSim on the very dynamic GPU/CPU hardware market. QW-GPUSim is currently optimised for application on modern PC graphic cards of a massively parallel architecture and significantly reduces the simulation time with the speedup of 14 for 3D applications and 28 for V2D applications (for NVidia GTX TITAN graphic card). QW-GPUSim is available for 64-bit version of QW-Simulator and is included in QuickWave Professional package.

Module For High Q-factor Structures Analysis.
QProny
In order to assist the users of QW-3D in the analysis of high Q structures, a special software module QProny, co-authored by Prof. M. Mrozowski was developed. QProny uses one of the most robust signal processing techniques known as the Generalised Pencil of Function Method (GPOF) and employs unique and innovative methods for automatic selection of the most important parameters such as:• the number of initial samples to be skipped• the number of samples required for model construction• the model order
