  • Portable Magnetometer System

MAGNETOSCOP® 1.070 - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The MAGNETOSCOP 1.070 is a portable magnetometer system with microprocessor and probes for measuring the magnetic flux density as an absolute or differential value (gradient). It has a USB port for simple data transfer and an SD card for saving measurement data and parameters. The measuring system also facilitates the recognition and saving of peak values and the adjustment of thresholds for limit values. The unit can be used for series and individual measurements. The data can be easily analyzed and documented with the PC software included in the scope of delivery. The MAGNETOSCOP 1.070 thus facilitates the portable and fast measurement of the relative permeability within the scope of the quality control of stainless steel and low-permeable (non-magnetic) alloys as well as the localization of ferrite enclosures. Changes in material (sulfidation, degradation of lamination, structural changes) can also be proven thanks to permeability comparative measurements.

  • Non-Destructive Testing

MAGNATEST® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The MAGNATEST product family is used for the non-destructive testing of metallic materials for magnetic and/or electrical properties. The test instruments are used in the automotive and aviation sectors as well as in the production of semi-finished products. The focus is on testing components relevant to safety such as brake discs, or ball pins and functional components such as camshafts and drive shafts, pivots and piston pins. Typical test tasks include hardness checks, material differentiation and sorting. MAGNATEST can also be used for the automatic testing for the geometric properties of all metallic series components. The high-performance amplifier installed in MAGNATEST test instruments makes it possible to analyze harmonics, which guarantees an extremely reliable and precise repetition, even when impacted by perturbations.

  • Quality Testing and Process Monitoring

DEFECTOMAT® Product Familiy - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The DEFECTOMAT systems by FOERSTER were specially developed for quality testing and process monitoring of long products. From hot testing to all bright steel processing steps, the surfaces of semi-finished products made from austenitic, (non) ferromagnetic metals can be tested for defects. The DEFECTOMAT systems operate in a contactless and non-destructive manner in accordance with the eddy current method and are used for detecting short defects, such as holes or localized defects and transverse defects. The systems detect defective materials fully automatically and reliably. Defects can be marked, classified, and automatically discarded. the test speed of up to 150 m/s facilitates 100% testing, even at high production speeds. The systems benefit from low operating costs and frugal energy consumption as well as low maintenance costs, few wear parts, and low use of materials.

  • Sensor System

CIRCOSON® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The CIRCOSON WT sensor system works on the basis of the so-called EMAT (Electro Magnetic Acoustic Transducer) method. This method electromagnetically creates and receives ultrasound waves. The EMAT method facilitates ultra precision wall thickness measurements of ferromagnetic seamless steel tubes in accordance with international standards. The data is transferred directly to the CIRCOSON WT test and evaluation equipment where it is processed and analyzed. The system reaches a wall thickness measurement accuracy of approx. 50 m and maximum throughput of up to 3.2 m/s during continuous testing.

  • Software Solution

DATA2LINE® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

DATA2LINE is a comprehensive software solution for preparing, processing, and analyzing geophysical detection. The software comprises the BASIC core program and additional modules UXO and GEO.

  • Surface Testing

CIRCOFLUX® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The CIRCOFLUX test system is used for the non-destructive surface testing of ferromagnetic steel bars using the magnetic flux leakage method in accordance with standard EN 10221. This method is the most sensitive surface testing method for longitudinal, crack-like defects in hot-rolled ferromagnetic steel bars. The CIRCOFLUX sensor system therefore replaces subjective testing methods such as the magnetic powder test (magnetic crack detection) and visual checks, which are difficult to document and reproduce.

  • Testing Surface Cracks

STATOGRAPH® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The STATOGRAPH product family is used for testing surface cracks with the help of eddy current scanning coils. The units use both fixed and movable probes. The fixed scanning coil scans the surface or sections of a rotating test piece, for instance. The intermittently operating eddy current probe only detects a very small part of the entire surface at any one moment. A minor material defect already produces a large disturbance in proportion to the narrow surface segment scanned by the probe.

  • Test Solution

ROTO-PUSH - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The ROTO-PUSH test station, which is integrated in production lines, serves to test cylindrical components for cracks in the liner surface. The testing configuration has to be rotated for automatic crack testing. After the test, the test pieces are sorted and separated. The continuous test run ensures a high testing rate, which increases profitability.

  • Eddy Current Test Instrument

DEFECTOMETER® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The DEFECTOMETER is a modern, highly sensitive eddy current test instrument for manual crack testing. It can also be used for simple hardness testing and material separation. The unit features automatic lift-off, zero, and tilt compensation. The intuitive controls can be operated without prior knowledge.

  • Eddy Current Test System

CIRCOGRAPH® Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The CIRCOGRAPH eddy current test system with rotating probes guarantees maximum detection sensitivity for exposed longitudinal surface defects on bright material. The test system is primarily used for wire drawing machines, Cu tube rewinders, and finishing sections in the bright steel sector. The individually tailored test systems by FOERSTER can be fitted with rotating sensors or CIRCOSCAN rotating discs. They scan flat and profiled material, e.g. when testing rails and billets.

  • Infrared Technology

DEFECTOVISION IR Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The automatic infrared technology applied by FOERSTER provides new approaches for previously impossible testing tasks. Inductive heat flux thermography facilitates the testing of entire surfaces of hot-rolled steel billets and tubes with round, square, or rectangular cross-sections as well as rails and profiles. Flat surfaces as well as exterior and interior radiuses are tested fully and reproducibly. All but a few millimeters of the ends of the materials are also covered by the surface test.

  • Fully Automatic Crack Test System

ROTO-SCAN - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG

The fully automatic crack test system ROTO-SCAN was specially developed for the testing of rings. The mechanical equipment has been developed for the gentlest possible handling of the test pieces and features a compact and low-maintenance design. The test probes seamlessly scan the inner and outer contours of the test pieces, thus ensuring 100 % testing of the rings.

  • Fluxgate Magnetometer

FEREX Product Family - Institut Dr. Foerster GmbH & Co. KG
