Due to the popularity of the manufactured items, BI Communications decided to appoint a UK sales manager in 1992, and business continued to go from strength to strength. Over the next few years BI Communications developed their own in house test equipment for checking cable assemblies and wiring looms, and measuring cable length on drums during inventory management.

The TX8000 is a 6 Km range Time Domain Reflectometer housed in a rugged over moulded case being water proof to IP67 and drop resistant, designed for outdoor use, but sufficiently small and light weight for general use and may be operated using one hand. Using a 3.5-inch QVGA colour display information is clearly displayed; an illuminated keypad makes the TX8000 ideal for use in poorly lit areas.

Small and intermittent faults can be easily identified by using the selectable gain control allowing trace amplification of up to 7 times and when set to scan lock mode the advanced noise reduction software may be selected allowing the user to select between 8,16 and 32-point trace averaging further enhancing the clarity of the trace by reducing electrical and environmental interference.
