  • Board

    ARINC-429 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

Aeronautical Radio INC (ARINC) is an organization composed of major airlines and airplane manufacturers, which promotes standardization within aircraft equipment. To facilitate this end ARINC puts out specifications describing communications busses as well as certain types of avionics systems. One of the more popular busses used in commercial aircraft today is the ARINC-429 bus.

  • Board

    ARINC-708 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The Weather Radar protocol consists of 1600-bit ARINC-708 words, which, when interpreted and plotted together, form a picture of weather patterns in the surrounding area. The various weather conditions are indicated by the colors displayed.

The MIL-STD-1553 multi function interface cards are compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1553 and provides a wide range of features normally found only on full size testers. The card can operate simultaneously as a Bus Controller (BC) and/or multiple (up to 32) Remote Terminals (RT), or as a Triggerable Bus Monitor. The card supports error injection and detection.

  • Boards

    MIL-STD-1760 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The MIL-STD-1760 interface card is compatible with all common variations of MIL-STD-1760 and provides a wide range of features normally found only on full size testers. The cards can operate simultaneously as a Bus Controller and/or multiple (up to 32) Remote Terminals, or as a Triggerable Bus Monitor. The card supports Checksum, SRQ bit and Header Words as well as error injection and error detection.

    Excalibur Systems, Inc.

Excalibur Systems provides software utilities and applications programs to manage data communications for our products, which include Bus Controllers, Bus Monitors, Data Recorders and analytical flight Data Reconstructors. There are different applications for single & multi function MIL-STD-1553 and ARINC-429.

  • Multi Protocol Boards

    Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-4000 carrier board series was developed to meet the needs of avionic testers for multi-protocol integrated, digital bus testing. Modules may be selected out of a growing list which currently includes MIL-STD-1553/1760, MMSI, H009, ARINC-429, ARINC-708/453, Serial (232/422/485), Discrete and CAN bus. Additionally, an IRIG B decoder implements a global time stamp relative to the IRIG B pulses. The need for higher density, different protocols, and multi-channel on one integrated test card has made the EXC-4000 series very successful.

  • Multi-Protocol Card

    EXC-4000PCI - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The EXC-4000PCI/xx card for the PCI bus supports up to forty ARINC-429 channels in any combination of transmit and/or receive. All of the channels feature error injection and detection. The receive channels allow for the storage of all selected labels with status and time tag information appended to each word, and also allow for filtering and multi-storage modes of data words. The transmit channels operate via a transmit ‘instruction stack’ which allows scheduling of data transmissions and reduces the need for host computer intervention.

  • MIL-STD-1553 MCH

    M4K1553MCH - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The M4K1553MCH interface module for the multimode, multiprotocol, Excalibur 4000 family of carrier boards provide a complete solution for developing and testing 1553 interfaces and performing system simulation of the MIL-STD-1553 bus. The module handles all standard variations of the MIL-STD-1553 protocol. The M4K1553MCH contains 32k x 16 of dual-port RAM for Data blocks, Control registers, and Look-up tables. All Data blocks and Control registers are memorymapped and may be accessed in real time. The dual-redundant 1553 module may be programmed to operate in one of four modes of operation: Bus Controller, Remote Terminal, RT/Concurrent-Bus Monitor, and Bus Monitor. The M4K1553MCH comes complete with Windows software, and a C driver software library including source code.

  • MIL-STD-1760

    M4K1553Px(S)-1760 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

The M4K1553Px(S)-1760 interface module for the multimode, multiprotocol, Excalibur 4000 family of carrier boards provide a complete solution for developing and testing MIL-STD-1760 interfaces and performing system simulation of the MIL-STD-1760 bus. The module handles all standard variations of the MIL-STD-1760 protocol. Each M4K1553Px-1760 multi function module contains 64K bytes of dual-port RAM for Data blocks, Control registers, and Look-up Tables. All Data blocks and Control registers are memory mapped, and may be accessed in real time. Each of the independent dual redundant M4K1553Px-1760 modules may be programmed to operate in one of three modes of operation: Remote Terminal, Bus Controller/Concurrent-RT, and Bus Monitor. In addition, modules 1 and 3 can be programmed to operate as Concurrent monitors, to modules 0 and 2 respectively.

  • Mini PCI Card

    EXC-1553mPCIe/P1 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

This card’s small size and suitability for Mini Card compatible computers make it a complete solution for developing, testing, integrating 1553 interfaces and for performing system simulation of the MIL-STD-1553 bus, both in the lab and in the field.

  • Mini Recorder

    MARC - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

It contains the following protocols: A dual redundant MIL-STD-1553 or MIL-STD-1760 interface4 receive ARINC-429 channels7 Discrete I/O signals 32GB of Storage Memory Its small size, weight, low power requirements and integrated heatsink make it an excellent candidate for data recording.

  • Protocol Converter

    MACC2 - Excalibur Systems, Inc.

When designing or upgrading avionics systems we are often faced with the task of integrating components that were not originally designed to work together.A control computer that communicates using RS-232 may need to control component that expects MIL-STD-1553 messages or an INS may put out ARINC-429 labels, which are needed by Multi function Display designed around RS-422.Faced with problems like these, integrators must choose between two poor options. They must either give up on one of the units in favor of another unit that may be less suitable but uses the appropriate communications spec; or they must add a computer system – often PC104 – which can translate from one unit to the other. These computers are generally large, heavy, hot, and require substantial power.
