Custom Energetics
Excelitas has extensive experience with designing, manufacturing, and testing a wide range of energetic components including actuators, detonators, initiators, and timers. The products are manufactured to precise standards enabling high reliability and consistency from device to device. The initiation mechanisms include exploding foil initiators (EFI), exploding bridge wire (EBW), and laser initiators. Detonators, actuators, and timers are manufactured and tested as build-to-print products for the NNSA.

Electronic Safe & Arm Devices
Excelitas Technologies specializes in the design, manufacture, and testing of MIL-STD-1316 compliant Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESAD), Electronic Safe, Arm and Fire Devices (ESAF), and Firing Modules (FM) for safe fuzing requirements of both legacy and next-generation missiles and munitions. Our dedicated staff of research and design experts use the latest advances in technology to design smaller, lighter, and more cost effective ESAFs and FMs to meet evolving requirements of newer more sophisticated weapon systems. Capabilities include a line of components and subsystems that have been qualified for hard target penetration environments and next-generation smaller-class munitions.

Ignition Safety Devices
Excelitas Technologies specializes in the design, manufacture, and testing of MIL-STD-1901A compliant rocket motor Ignition Safety Devices (ISD) for safe initiation of both launch and flight motor initiators. Our ISD designs are compatible with through bulkhead initiators that work in-line with the detonator to provide highly reliable transfer of pyrotechnic energy, while isolating the ISD from the rocket motor heat and combustion effects. Our ISDs are designed for either single- or multiple-pulse initiation applications.
