CATCH is a web based locomotive monitoring system. This system provides locomotive data on Internet. Locomotive data are automatically download and organized at one place. The downloaded data can be viewed from anywhere through the Internet. By this flexibility the decision taking authority can get into an action immediately.
The Railway signaling unit is used to receive the input signals from the field for validating and clearing route for trains. After receiving the signals, signals are isolated and various tests are done inside the system to ensure the received signals reliability and produce clearance signal to railway line. For security reasons card signature has been given to each card in the system. System consists of digital input modules, digital output module, digital read back module, RS232 interface with 80486 processor board. It is an ISA Bus Back plane based system.
Transmitter and Receiver units are designed to work at 24V DC voltage (nominal) with variation between 19.2 V to 28.8V. The system is designed to work with carrier frequency 1800/2700 Hz and modulated frequency 65Hz/85Hz. For 1800Hz Carrier Frequency RED border is used in Front Panel and for 2700Hz Carrier Frequency BLUE border is used in Front Panel. Maximum power consumed by transmitter and receiver are 1.2W and 8W, respectively. Sense level for receiver is less than –19 dBm and No sense level for receiver is more than –22 dBm with 1mw (0 dBm) transmitter power. The equipment is designed to work satisfactorily with temperature variation from 0°C to 55°C with relative humidity of 95% at 35°C. Suitable test points are provided in the back of the equipment to monitor the necessary parameters.
