Testing of Electrical Safety
Manufacturers and operators of electrical equipment are required to carry out an electrical safety test within the framework of the applicable regulations. This is to prevent accidents caused by malfunctions in electrical equipment, such as fire, explosion as well as injuries and personal damage. The tests to be carried out are specified in national (VDE/DIN) and international (EN/IEC) standards. After passing the test, the product is considered safe for the entire life cycle, provided it is left in its original condition and used for its intended purpose.

Protector Conductor Test / Ground Continuity Test / Ground Bond Test
Testing the protective conductor is indispensable for assemblies, devices and systems of protection class I because it reduces the risk of life-threatening electrical accidents. The test checks whether the protective earth (PE) fulfils the criteria specified in the standards and can correctly discharge the current occurring in case of a fault. The ground continuity test checks whether the protective earth conductor is connected continuously to all metallic enclosure parts that can be touched by the user. The test can be carried out with low currents and voltages (simple continuity test).

Hipot Tests
The hipot test (high potential test) or dielectric withstand test, is used to determine the insulation and dielectric strength. It is carried out on modules, devices and systems of protection class I + II. In this test, the insulation of the test object is subjected to greater stress by the high voltage than in normal operation. It is determined whether the insulation of all current-carrying conductors, as well as the safety distance to the enclosure, is sufficient and complies with the legal requirements under normal operating conditions. We will be happy to assist you with any questions or solutions to problems. You will find a large selection of high-voltage testers in our comprehensive shop.Questions? We are always at your disposal.

Leakage Test
Leakage current and discharge current depend on the insulation of the device. The measurement simulates various fault situations that could occur during operation. The test determines whether the measured current is within the permissible limits and poses no danger to the user in case of a fault.

Multifunctional Safety Tests
Manufacturers of electrical or electronic products are required by law to carry out an electrical safety test before placing them on the market. This final test takes place at the end of the manufacturing process and is therefore also referred to as an EOL test (end-of-line). Depending on the prescribed standard and directive, the following parameters are tested:- Leakage current and discharge current- Insulation resistance or the insulation strenth- Dielectric strength or electric strength- Correct installation of the protective conductor (ground continuity and ground bond test)- Faultless functioning of the product under the conditions defined for intended use (function or run test
