Our Laser Scanning Microscopy offering includes multiphoton and confocal fluorescence microscopy systems. Thorlabs is a leader in the development of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) Imaging Systems. We offer complete systems as well as a selection of components that are ideal for constructing a custom OCT system. Our series of Laser-Scanning Cytometry instruments are non-confocal systems that utilize laser-spot scanning illumination. The detection system, which combines PMTs for fluorescence detection and photodiodes for absorbance and scatter detection, offers excellent quantitative cytometric performance and imaging capabilities. Our Burleigh® line or microscope platforms, micromanipulators, and accessories provide leading edge stability and control for electrophysiology research, and our line of Optogenetics equipment includes fiber optic components and light sources for in vivo optical stimulation for neuroscience research.

Thorlabs' Scientific-Grade Cameras are specifically designed for microscopy and other demanding applications. The Zelux™ CMOS cameras have small footprints and provide cost-effective solutions for general-purpose imaging applications. Kiralux® cameras have CMOS sensors with high quantum efficiency in a compact housing and are offered in monochrome, color, NIR-enhanced, and polarization-sensitive versions. Our polarization-sensitive CMOS camera is ideal for materials inspection, flaw detection, and other advanced techniques using polarization. The Quantalux® monochrome sCMOS cameras are fast frame rate imagers that combine high dynamic range with extremely low read noise for low-light applications. They are available in either a passively cooled compact housing or a hermetically sealed TE-cooled housing. We also offer scientific CCD cameras with a variety of features, including versions optimized for operation at UV, visible, or NIR wavelengths; fast-frame-rate cameras; TE-cooled or non-cooled housings; and versions with the sensor face plate removed. An intuitive software package, API and SDK for developers, and third-party software support provide options for custom system control and image acquisition.

Thorlabs offers a line of optogenetics equipment that allows for in vivo optical stimulation for neuroscience research. We currently offer a large selection of optogenetics supplies, including implantable fiber optic cannulae with ceramic or stainless steel Ø1.25 or Ø2.5 mm ferrules, available both cleaved and scissor-cut. We offer lightweight multimode patch cables with an optional rotary joint. They have ferrule ends for mating to our cannulae using an interconnect or ceramic mating sleeve. A separate 1x1 rotary joint that accepts FC/PC multimode patch cables is also available. Cannula holders and implant guides provide additional stability and accuracy when implanting cannulae. Our optogenetics kits provide all the necessary components for an optogenetics experiment including LED, patch cable, cannulae, and accessories. Customers can add, remove, or replace parts in these kits to customize the purchase for their needs. We also offer couplers/splitters, a 1x2 rotary joint splitter, fiber-coupled LED light sources, and a 473 nm fiber-coupled laser.
