NAI offers, and continues to introduce, high density multifunction or combination-function I/O boards designed for a specific application or purpose. Based on the specialized application itself, from the interface connectors through the motherboard, to the specific function, these boards typically address I/O function integration challenges requiring higher current capacity, layout, and/or grounding requirements that are not available in our standard I/O boards. They are specifically designed for rugged defense, commercial aerospace, and industrial applications.

3U OpenVPX High Density Multifunction I/O Board
68CB6
The 68CB6 is a Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®) 3U OpenVPX™ board that is preconfigured with 10 different “inboard” I/O, measurement and communication functions. This Combination-function Board (CB) provides a full suite of some of the most common & useful function interfaces supporting many different applications. The 68CB6 features a wide but dedicated selection of functions: Standard Functionality Discrete I/O (DT1); Successive Approximation Register (SAR) ±100 V Analog-to-Digital (AD); Isolated High Voltage Analog-to-Digital (ADF); ±10 V Digital-to-Analog (DA); Thermocouple (TC1) or Resistance Temperature Detector (RT1); Full-bridge Strain Gauge (SG1); Transmission/gear box Chip Detection and Fuzz Burn (CD1); LVDT-to-Digital linear (LD6) displacement (position) measurement, AC Reference Source output (AC2); CAN bus communication (CB8). The 68CB6 offers unparalleled programming flexibility, a wide range of operating characteristics, and a unique design that eliminates the need for external intermediate circuit considerations such as pull-up resistors or mechanical configuration jumpers. Inboard functions are software controlled and memory addressed, accessed in similar COSA® modular fashion to maintain seamless common NAI Software Support Kit & API/library structures.

68DT1
The 68DT1 is a 3U OpenVPX™ board featuring up to 96-Channels of Standard Functionality (SF) DT1 module-type or Enhanced Functionality (EF) DT4 module-type Discrete I/O functions [foptioned, factory configurable].48-Channels are dedicated as input (voltage or contact sensing with programmable, pull-up/pull-down current sources). An additional 24 or 48-Channels are programmable for either input or output (current source, sink, or push-pull) switching up to 500 mA per channel from an applied 3 – 60 V external VCC source (or sink to ISO-GND). The 68DT1 can sense broken input connections and whether an input is shorted to +VCC or to ground. Additional features of the DT4 EF are listed below. The 68DT1 offers unparalleled programming flexibility, a wide range of operating characteristics, and a unique design that eliminates the need for pull-up resistors or mechanical jumpers.
