  • Engine Test Adapters

    Atec, Inc.

Atec has built test adapters for a wide variety of engines from high bypass fan engines to small APU engines. Testing a new engine type in your existing jet engine test cell can be challenging, and upgrade modifications will be needed. Atec does not view an adapter as just a mechanical weldment that simply mates the engine to the aeroengine thrust stand. Our engineers realize that additional items will be needed in the facility to insure total project success. During the planning phase, Atec engineers can visit your existing facility and/or review videos to make a comprehensive assessment of the integration needed to add a new engine type to your testing facility. Atec can perform airflow, acoustics, FEA and sub systems analyses to ensure that any new engine added to your jet engine test cell will have the proper capacity to perform properly. Vital Link’s current experience with advanced fighter engines test adapter kits further bolsters our expertise in high thrust engine test handling.

  • Test Benches

    Atec, Inc.

Atec has made test equipment throughout all of its 65-year history. Test benches for aerospace and energy uses represent a significant segment of our experience. Atec has produced test benches involving hydraulics, mechanicals, electromechanicals, electronics, pneumatics, motors, and digital automation. Atec test benches have performed for challenging measurements, factory production, problem analysis and component overhaul scenarios. Today, complex test benches have capable data acquisition, control and communication systems integral in their electronics. Atec’s ADAQ™ system, based on COTS components and software, is proven and popular in test bench applications. DCUs, ECUs, FADECs and earlier analog or mechanical control units are easily interfaced.

  • Tensile Properties of Thin Plastic Sheeting

ASTM D882 - National Technical Systems

This test method covers the determination of tensile properties of plastics in the form of thin sheeting and films (less than 1.0 mm (0.04 in.) in thickness). Film is defined in Terminology D883 as an optional term for sheeting having a nominal thickness no greater than 0.25 mm (0.010 in.). Tensile properties of plastics 1.0 mm (0.04 in.) or greater in thickness shall be determined according to Test Method D638. This test method can be used to test all plastics within the thickness range described and the capacity of the machine employed. Specimen extension can be measured by grip separation, extension indicators, or displacement of gage marks. The procedure for determining the tensile modulus of elasticity is included at one strain rate. The modulus determination is generally based on the use of grip separation as a measure of extension; however, the desirability of using extensometers, is recognized and provision for the use of such instrumentation is incorporated in the procedure. Test data obtained by this test method is relevant and appropriate for use in engineering design. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are provided for information only. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

  • Volumetric Flow Detectors

    FP-5000 Series - Ono Sokki

In engine evaluations such as emission mode tests and transient tests for performance evaluation, the evaluation methods have been shifting from steady-state tests to transient tests. In the evaluation of fuel consumption, the requirement for evaluating the fuel consumption characteristics in transient duration has been increasing as well as the total fuel consumption for each mode. The FP-5000 series has achieved high pulse resolution and wide measurement range. It enables to detect changes in the flow rate effectively and responsively, and measure large flow rate. It can be used when the flow rate increases, such as when measuring alcohol fuel.
