TP02 is a probe that offers the possibility to perform a practical and fast measurement of the thermal conductivity (or thermal resistivity) of the medium in which it is inserted at the highest accuracy level. It works in compliance with the ASTM D 5334-00, D 5930-97 and IEEE 442-1981 standards. The standard TP02 probe has proven suitability in soils, thermal backfill materials, sediments, foodstuff, powders, sludges, paints, glues and various other materials. The Non-Steady-State Probe (NSSP) measurement method (also known as transient line source, thermal needle, hot needle, heat pulse- and hot wire technique) has the fundamental advantages that it is fast and absolute while the sample size is not critical. Hukseflux is specialised in NSSP design. Special models have been developed for in-situ field experiments. For permanent installation in soils, a dedicated model, TP01, is available. TP02 has been designed and tested in collaboration with the Applied Physics Group of Wageningen University.

The fourth generation of CVS Trevista Surface, Cylinder and Multiline surface inspection systems from Stemmer Imaging features brighter illumination to enable faster image acquisition and have a larger measuring field. The new Trevista X4 models utilize a 2.5-D process, called "Shape from Shading," and are especially suited to the examination of components with shiny and diffusely scattering surfaces. Surface defects such as scratches, burrs, dents, discoloration or grinding marks, even if only a few micrometers deep, can be detected with significantly greater certainty with this process than with conventional image processing systems, according to the manufacturer. The X4 generation offers structured, diffuse dome illumination that is brighter by a factor of 2.5 compared with the previous models, enabling faster image acquisition. For a typical image size of four megapixels, evaluation using the Trevista algorithm takes place around 20% faster than before, which results in potentially lower cycle times.

The LGS 1000 model has an optional addition of a luminous flux integrator. Instrument Systems also offers a Type C Design for that particular goniophotometer model which is designed with a horizontal optical axis.
