Inclinometers
When it comes to sensors, engineers seeking precise single-axis measurements (or accurate elevation readings in a dual-axis tracker) have historically had few viable options. Keep solar-collection and tracking systems on target by maximizing output and efficiency with US Digital’s US-made absolute inclinometers. Rugged, affordable and extremely accurate, they enable control engineers to strike the perfect balance between cost, value and long-term performance.

Biaxial Inclinometers
Columbia Research Laboratories
Columbia's Biaxial Inclinometers use the same force balance accelerometer technology used in our single axis inclinometers. These Biaxial Inclinometers are used in applications where dual axis tilt measurements are required. The SI-702B series is intended for use in applications such as platform stabilization, surface mapping and measuring tilt angles in remote locations. The SI-701AI series, is designed with an output circuit configuration made for use in 4-20mA data transmission systems.

Inclinometer Systems
Columbia Research Laboratories
Columbia Research Labs offers our standard Inclinometer System and our Differential Inclinometer System. The standard system includes a temperature compensated force balance inclinometer in conjunction with a power module and convenient digital display. It is available with either AC or DC Power supply input. The Differential System allows the customer to match the slope of two remotely located surfaces. The readout can be set to indicate the absolute tilt of either sensor or the differential angle between them.

Digital Inclinometer
ZET 7154
Digital inclinometer ZET 7154 is used in static systems for platforms positioning control (2-axial mode) with a tolerance below 0,1 %. Low power voltage and CAN protocol enable integration of ZET 7154 digital inclinometer into almost any industrial system. “Set to zero” option allows to calibrate the sensor to zero in every axis, thus preventing platform critical tilt in the set coordinate.

Digital Inclinometer
ZET 7054
ZET 7054 digital inclinometer is used in static systems to sustain platform position (biaxial mode). Low supply voltage, MODBUS protocol application – all this enables embedding of ZET 7054 inclinometer in almost any industrial system. The “Set zero position” function allows to set transducer to zero on each of the axes, and thus, to prevent the platform critical inclination along the coordinate specified.

General Inclinometers
Columbia Research Laboratories
Columbia's SI-701 Series of Inclinometers are electronic tilt sensors based on Force Balance Accelerometer technology. They produce high level low impedance output proportional to the sine of the tilt angle. Model SI-701B is a low cost general purpose sensor that can be up-graded with the addition of the Columbia "HP" torquer system (SI-701BI) for greater accuracy and ruggedness. A bi-axial version of both units (SI-702B) is also available. The Model SI-701BI is designed with an output circuit made for 4-20mA data transmission systems for industrial applications. The model SI-701FND is a fluid dampened premium performance inclinometer designed to produce accurate tilt data in extreme shock and vibration environments. The latest addition in the line is Model SI-701WPBI, a waterproof (to 150 feet) inclinometer which operates from a +15 volt supply with 4-20mA output. A single power supply powers both the sensor and the 4-20mA line driver.

4-20mA Output Inclinometer
LCF-2330
The LCF-2330 inclinometer series now includes a 4-20mA output signal option for applications that require long cable runs. This dual axis tilt sensor is fluid damped to minimize noise and vibration interference while also offering a sharp 1 µradian resolution. An internal temperature sensor is available and dual supply, ± 5 Vdc output is an option. The LCF-2330 is an excellent solution for rugged applications such as radar & antenna leveling, weapons platform leveling, barge and offshore platform control, deviation surveys, 2-axis machine tool leveling, bridge structural monitoring, submersible control feedback, offshore platform stability and manufacturing process equipment for the aerospace industry.

Absolute Optical Inclinometer
A2T
The A2T is a single axis, digital gravity angle sensor. The A2T serves as a full 360 range absolute tilt sensing programmable level with either digital or analog output. Internally, a rotary bar coded disk is mounted to a weighted gravity driven wheel. A micro-controller strobes an LED to transfer the bar code image onto an optical linear array, then decodes the position every 2 mSec. Magnetic damping provides fast response and settling time while virtually eliminating overshoot and oscillations. An internal EEPROM stores field programmable parameters such as resolution, zero position, direction swap, and mode. This second generation design virtually eliminates the primary accuracy limitation of first generation inclinometers, which is sitation (hysteresis).

Networked Absolute Inclinometer
T7
The T7 is available in several interface and protocol options. The physical interface can be RS232, RS485 or US Digital's CAN (Controller Area Network). The protocol can be either US Digital's serial protocol or Modbus RTU. The RS232 version supports a single T7 with up to 100 ft of cable. For users that need longer cable lengths or multiple T7s on a single bus, the RS485 or US Digital CAN (Controller Area Network) version can be used. The USD-CAN protocol allows a network of up to sixty-four T7s to be connected to a single host. Power for each T7 is supplied over the CAN network cable. The host accesses the USD-CAN T7s through US Digital's low cost CANA-232/CANA-485 adapter module. This module allows the host to access each T7 on the network using simple, easy serial port commands, just like the RS232 version. The RS485 version supports up to 32 T7s on the bus.

VLF Receiver
T-Vlf
The VLF receiver is specially designed for high productivity surveys, in ground water and mining exploration. No orientation of the operator with respect to the direction of the transmitter is required since three magnetic sensors measure the components of the VLF field. Tilt or horizontality of the sensor unit is neither required since two inclinometers correct for tilted position.
