Thermo Mechanical Analysis (TMA)
TMA is used to characterize linear expansion, glass transitions, and softening points of materials by applying a constant force to a specimen while varying temperature. For expansion measurements, a probe rests on a sample on a stage with minimal downward pressure. Other constant force experiments include measurement of penetration, bending, tension, shrinkage, swelling, and creep (sample motion measured as a function of time under an applied load).

Manual Tuners / Impedance Tuners
Maury manual tuners are based on precision slide screw technology that utilizes broadband slab line transmission structure and passive probes to create impedances for devices. The probes are designed to be very close to onequarter wavelength in the linear dimension at the mid-band of each range. Since each tuner has two probes, this results in improved matching characteristics for each unit. Another key feature of this series of tuners is the inclusion of a LCD position readout of the carriage position on those units operating below 18 GHz. Higher frequency tuners utilize a micrometer carriage drive. The positional repeatability and high matching range of these tuners make them ideally suited for use as a variable impedance source in applications like device characterization. Such measurements depend upon the ability of the tuner to establish impedances out near the edge of the Smith chart and to reproduce the electrical characteristics as a function of mechanical position. The tuners in this series are also easy to use due to the nearly independent electrical results of the mechanical motions. The depth of penetration of the probe into the transmission line determines the magnitude of the reflection, while the position of the probe along the line determines the phase. While there is some interaction, the effects are almost independent of each other. https://www.maurymw.com/images/mw-rf/mst982e35.jpg

Fluid Power Actuators
CQ
The CQ range provides an innovative fully-concentric and balanced actuator design for quarter-turn valves. The design features a helical mechanism that transforms linear piston motion into quarter-turn valve stem rotation. CQ actuators provide a much higher torque output for a given footprint than scotch yoke designs typically utilised to operate many quarter-turn valve types. It is therefore ideally suited for installation in confined spaces. Further, Rotork’s unique helical pin design provides higher efficiency than a helical gear mechanism utilised by other valve actuator manufacturers. As standard, the CQ torque output profile, like that of a scotch yoke actuator, is engineered to parallel the torque demand profile typically found with popular quarter-turn valve types. The CQ design however is unique in that the torque profile can be custom engineered and manufactured to meet specific, non-standard valve torque requirements. In our experience, the CQ standard range of sizes is suitable for applications that require a pneumatically powered actuator with torque demand less than 150,000 Nm. However, we also engineer CQ actuators with greater output and/or hydraulic power. Please apply to Rotork for these applications.

Open Optical Encoders
An optical encoder is an electromechanical device which produces an electrical signal output proportional to the linear displacement of a linear guide or the angular position of an input shaft.Open encoders are exposed and feature no external integrated enclosure. The advantages of open optical encoders include the effective elimination of backlash, shaft wind-up (torsion) and other mechanical hysteresis errors.A rotary open optical encoder consists of a position measurement readhead and an accurate rotary scale marked either on the periphery of a ring or on the face of a disc. The readhead measures position by optically sensing the regularly-spaced scale markings and outputs this information as an analogue or digital signal. The signal is subsequently converted into a position reading by a digital readout (DRO) or motion controller.
