The quality of the JavaScript code is often verified with the traditional activities of unit and functional testing. There are however tools that allow to check code before its execution to assess its quality and its adherence to coding standards using a process called static code analysis. This article presents a list of open source tools to perform static code analysis on JavaScript.

E5006A -
Keysight Technologies
The E5006A Time Domain/ Fault Location Analysis option allows you to locate the discontinuities and mismatches of devices such as cables. By employing the gating function in the time domain and transforming the data back to the frequency domain, you can remove unwanted responses of connector mismatch in your fixture. In addition, the cable SRL (Structural Return Loss) analysis capability is provided with the E5006A.

Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Inc.
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM Analysis) can produce images of almost any sample at magnifications of 15-300,000X. The SEM has tremendous depth of field allowing for imaging that cannot be accomplished using optical microscopy. Conductive and nonconductive samples can be imaged. When operated in the backscatter (BSE) detection mode, differences in material composition can be observed. Elemental analysis can be performed on any feature observed with an integrated Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) detector.

Evans Analytical Group®
Two XRF systems are available, a wavelength dispersive system (WDXRF) and an energy dispersive system (EDXRF). The difference is the manner in which the x-rays are detected. WDXRF instruments have very good energy resolution which leads to fewer spectral overlaps and improved background intensities. EDXRF instruments have higher signal throughput which can shorten analysis times. The higher signal throughput also makes EDXRF systems suitable for small spot or mapping analysis.

Although the magnitude of the sound is not so large, there are many “unpleasant sound” in the world. For example, “rattling” and “humming“ sounds generated from interior items while driving a car, or abnormal sounds such as “buzzing“ sounds that can be heard in the rotation sound of a small motor, etc. Sounds with significant temporal fluctuation often feel unpleasant even the magnitude of sound (level) is not so large. The fluctuation sound analysis is the analysis that can extract only the components with large time fluctuation that are not affected by the level. As a result, it becomes possible to quantify the characteristics of various temporal fluctuations that were difficult to detect with conventional FFT, basic roughness or fluctuation strength. In addition, since it can be evaluated with two axes of sound tone (high and low) and time fluctuation cycle for various sound designs (applying effect), deeper analysis than conventional technology is possible.

GrammaTech CodeSonar® -
Verifysoft Technology GmbH
CodeSonar is GrammaTech´s flagship static analysis software. Able to analyze both source code and binary code, it is specifically designed for zero-tolerance defect environments. With its advanced static analysis engine, CodeSonar is one of the most effective tools for eliminating the most costly and hard-to-find software defects early in the application development lifecycle. Compared with other tools, CodeSonar identifies twice as many defects that result in system crashes, leaks, data races, memory corruptions and security vulnerabilities.
