Dexter Research Center, Inc.
Dexter's sensitive yet rugged fire detectors, or fire sensors, serve as the foundation of US combat fire suppression systems on combat aircraft and ground vehicles ranging from the HUMVEE to the Abraham's Tank. Our fire sensors consume low energy, making them the premier safety component on battery-powered as well as hot-wired systems. We like to call them "the eye that never sleeps." How fast are they? Fast enough to race the fire caused by a rocket hitting a fuel tank and win, triggering fire suppression on the spot to help protect soldier and pilot alike. Rugged missions require rugged equipment. Intensive MIL-STD-883H testing performed by Trialon Corporation, an independent testing facility, confirm that Dexter Research's silicon-based temperature sensor detectors meet the same rugged requirements of 1,000G's for mechanical shock and 30G's in random vibration for which our thin-film detectors are famous. ATE -
Frontier Electronic Systems Corp.
The design, development, manufacture and integration of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems is a core technology focus for FES. Our engineers have designed and manufactured complex flight line test systems for military aircraft such as the F-15, F-18, C-17, B-1, B-52 and OV-22 aircraft. In 1994, FES developed the Common Core Test Set to test space systems electronics for the Defense Support Program (DSP). This open-architecture, high-reliability electronics test set has been upgraded over the last 20 years with new hardware and graphics-based software to accommodate the complex testing requirements associated with the International Space Station Rotary Joint Motor Controller and other satellite electronics. Maritime ATE systems designed and manufactured by FES include Radar & Video Distribution factory test systems supporting US and Canadian Navy customer production requirements. Core components of FES-developed ATE systems include the use of PXI/PCI/VXI/VME technologies, National Instruments Test Stand software, Agilent Technologies instrumentation, and Virginia Panel interface hardware. The FES ATE design team employs CMMI level 3 compliant processes throughout the design process from Systems Requirements Analysis through verification and validation of ATE compliance with customer hardware, software, and documentation requirements.

Phantom™ -
Textron Systems
The Phantom is a long-range laser and ultraviolet (UV) stimulator capable of testing aircraft electro-optical sensor suites up to 5 km. Phantom can operate as an independent laser and/or UV stimulator or can be integrated with our other electro-optical and radio frequency range systems (see GTESS and PRTS). The Phantom provides both a laser threat and a synchronized temporal missile plume signature to stimulate both the aircraft’s laser and missile warning systems. Training aircrew to counter maneuver a Laser Beam Riders (LBR) threat is considered essential to survival and in-air training. The Phantom can be deployed either on a shoulder or tripod mount.

GTESS -
Textron Systems
The Ground Threat Emitter Sensor System (GTESS) is a modular test and training system capable of stimulating multi-spectral aircraft electro-optic sensor suites at long range. The GTESS system integrates Textron Systems’ ultraviolet (Mallina™), infrared (Phoenix) and/or laser (Phantom™) ranged stimulators with an automated tracking system to facilitate fast-moving test, training and evaluation exercises. A fully integrated camera system for effective after action review. GTESS can also work in conjunction with Textron’s radio frequency (RF) range stimulator systems (PRTS™ & HPRTS) for complete multi-spectral testing.

TA-100 -
Tech-Aid Products
The TA-100 signal generator was designed to facilitate testing of aircraft fuel flow indicators that require two input signals designated as “Drum” and “Impeller”. This generator provides both signals so as to provide a direct interface to the fuel flow indicator under test. The generator also provides switched power out to the unit under test as well as a 5v source for testing the bezel lighting. The original design was built around the requirements for the AMETEK series indicators (pn: 10171 series). This generator simulates a reference and a time delayed signal of appropriate amplitude for an indication of up to 1200pph for the indicator under test. The “PPH Select” switch provides fixed signal delays representing 0, 200, 400, 800, 1000 and 1200pph flow rates respectively, this provides the mechanic with an expedient check of the indicators accuracy. The “PPH Adjust” control allows the mechanic to vary the signal delay throughout the full range and serves as a good method for checking of pointer smoothness from stop to stop. The unit’s front panel also provides test jacks to monitor the “FDR Output” as well as the drum and impeller signals. The TA-100 requires only 28Vdc to operate. This generator provides a very economical approach to any repair facility or flight department as it becomes an alternative to purchasing two bench top signal generators. The TA-100 generator at the very least can provide a simple functional test and eliminate the high cost of exchanging an indicator as a function of troubleshooting the aircraft system.

CA-RD(H) -
Cincinnati Sub-Zero Products
CSZ's rapid decompression test chamber is designed to simulate rapid decompression for testing aircraft avionics. The environmental chamber meets the environmental conditions and test procedures for airborne equipment referenced in the RTCA DO-160 test specification. The DO-160 specification was designed to test sudden pressure changes starting from 8,000 feet to 60,000 feet (536 to 55 Torr) in 15 seconds. An altitude of 8,000 feet (536 Torr) was used for the initial cabin altitude and 60,000 feet was used for the final cabin altitude after decompression. This test specification is used to identify failures of materials inside of the cabin and the reaction to the surrounding environment.

Eclypse International
A testing procedure designed to thoroughly test the electrical characteristics of a wire or cable, may require additional test points to connect the end points of all conductive paths. The changing and alteration of Test Adapter Cables (TACs) would become obsolete when having access to one or several expansion units. Increased testing efficiency alleviates the long, drawn out down times of the disabled aircraft while improving product readiness. Additional time can be spent on troubleshooting and problem identification and will not require the user to unhook and connect TACs to different matrices. Adding additional expansion units will save the user time, money, and effort.

Model No. 11615-50 -
Aero Instruments & Avionics, Inc.
The Aero Instruments & Avionics 11615-50 Portable Data Loader (PDL) provides proven ARINC 615-3/ARINC 603 load technologies with additional ARINC 615A over Ethernet capability. This new addition to our product line is ideal for aircraft fleets preparing to use, or that are currently using 615A loadable equipment. Avionic data loads can be performed from Floppy Disk, CD, DVD, USB, or the internal solid state Mass Storage Device (MSD). The MSD can be loaded in advance to eliminate the distribution of disks/memory devices to airplanes while significantly reducing the time to perform the data load tasks. External media is verified before any load is executed. This saves valuable ground time by alerting the operator of any bad media before attempting the load. Our 11615-50 PDL is easy to read and easy to use. All functions are performed using the high resolution 5” TFT LCD display and four large “Soft Buttons”. Together, they provide simple navigation to the selected loadable software and straightforward load status messages. Call Jim Krey for a quote: 716-694-7060 ext. 322
