GPS Speedometer/GPS Vector Speedometer
LC-8120/LC-8220
The LC-8120/8220 is the GPS-based speedometers which measure speed and distance of moving objects with high accuracy. Support for GLONASS satellite which is not supported in the conventional model (LC-8100A/8200A) to ensure stable measurement. Antenna for LC-8220 (LC-0721) is smaller and lighter than the conventional antenna for LC-8200A (LC-0086) and it enables easy operation. The new antenna (LC-0721) is able to attach to the conventional unit of LC-8200(A) for measurement. The linearity of acceleration and angular speed are improved by using the standard IMU (inertial measurement unit) together with the optional high accuracy IMU. Also, by adding the high response IMU analog output function (option), the analog output frequency of the IMU data can be increased from 100 Hz to 500 Hz. A wide range of optional functions such as white-line detecting function (LC-0856), jerk measurement function (LC-0871) and average deceleration speed calculation (function in the LC-0831) are available for various automotive tests.

Near Field Probes
A typical emi emission test is performed using broadband EMC antennas such as biconical, log periodics, Combilogs and horns. These antennas usually placed at 1, 3 or 10 meter distance as required by the test specification. These is considered far field measurements and the emission limits are given for the specific distance by the specification. During EMI compliance measurements, the emissions levels from products are compared with these limits. If the product exceeds these limits it is considered failing. These tests are typically conducted in a open area test site IOATS) or inside an anechoic chamber.

Tapered Anechoic Chamber
It’s nearly impossible to perform VHF/UHF measurements in a rectangular chamber. In the 1960’s Emerson determined that tapering one end of an Anechoic Chamber would cause the chamber to act like an indoor ground reflection range.Tapered Chambers work very well at the lower frequencies. Their design forms a uniform illumination across the test region. The tapered end of the chamber forces the wall images close together forming a source antenna array. Tapered Chambers are usually a less expensive option compared to rectangular antenna measurement chambers or compact ranges.

Measuring Small Antennas
If you have a small PCB with a small antenna you can't use a thick cable and a large connector. Not only is this impractical (how to connect the connector?) but the metal bulk will also affect the antenna and grounding properties of your PCB. The measurement will be useless.
