A small form factor embedded computer board, typically intended for use in small, space-constrained industrial control or vehicles systems. The standard size of these modules is just 3.550 × 3.775 inches (90 × 96 mm). The name PC/104 comes from the original IBM computer known as the "PC", and the number of pins used to connect the cards together (104). PC/104 boards are typically stacked on top of each other using stackable bus connectors and four mounting holes at the corner of each module. This provides a much more rugged, embedded computer that can be used in harsh environments such as those found in military or industrial applications.

The built-in safety switch is used to lock the hood and release the high-voltage sources. This ensures that no high voltage is active when the door is open. An interchangeable adapter plate in the test cell - optionally with an interchangeable interface or an interchangeable adapter cassette - allows quick adaptation to different types of test items. One of the main advantages of the Telematrix system is the relative ease in which both large and small matrix systems may be conceived and assembled from a selection of only five basic components. The five main components forming the Telematrix are the Enclosure, the CPU Card, the Input Card, the Output Card and the Input Device (keyboards etc.). Cards simply slide into the enclosure on nylon card guides and secured by two small screws. Keyboards are connected by a flexible 4 core telephone lead and plug into the Telematrix using standard BT plugs (X2110, X2120) or via a standard 4 pair CAT5 cable terminating on RJ45 IDC connectors (X2140).

The SX1 set consists of 3 passive near field probes for making measurements in the development phase of E-field and magnetic field with a high clock frequency in the range from 1 GHz to 10 GHz. The probe heads of the set SX allow for measurements close to electronic assemblies, e.g. on single IC pins, conducting paths, components and their connectors, to localize interference sources. Field orientation and field distribution on an electronic assembly can be detected through trained use of the near field probe. The near field probes are small and handy. They have a sheath current attenuation and are electrically shielded. They can be connected to a spectrum analyzer or an oscilloscope with a 50 Ω input. They have an internal terminating resistance.

Dielectric resonator oscillators (DRO) are free running oscillators that utilize state-of-the-art planar circuits, three-terminal devices and dielectric resonator technology to generate high-quality microwave signals with excellent frequency stability. In addition, these oscillators are equipped with an internal voltage regulator that further improves the frequency stability by isolating the external bias pushing and modulation. In general, these oscillators are fixed. However, a small mechanical or electrical tuning range can be achieved by use of a self-locking screw or an integrated Varactor diode. The standard offering covers the frequency range of 2 to 40 GHz. While standard models are equipped with female SMA and K connectors at the RF port, other RF interface options are also available.

The module is built on a single width 6U PXI module and the interface is via a standard PXI/CompactPCI backplane. Connection to the switching contacts is via three 50-pin D-type male connectors mounted on the front panel. These are machined contact types with 7.5A current carrying capacity.
