  • Terahertz Source

    Optilab, LLC.

Optilab’s Terahertz Source is a set of fully integrated optical heterodyne signal sources packaged in a 1u rack mount configuration. Based on Tunable Wavelength Laser (TWL) systems, the Optical Heterodyne Source series produce optical heterodyne signals up to 10 Terahertz. An optical heterodyne is a signal produced by the frequency beat of two optical sources. The beating makes the optical signals detectable by GHz and slower, square-law detectors such as PDs and finds varied uses in LIDAR, spectroscopy and other high phase-sensitivity applications. The Optical Heterodyne Source series provides high accuracy and high stability optical heterodyne signals over large signal range. The integrated GUI software gives the user full control of the optical heterodyne signal.

The first and the second monochromator are the side entrance and double exits, the third monochromator is the double entrances and double exits, it is easy to connect the CCD and PMT, the single channel detectors. There are three import gratings in each monochromator, and the spectral range is located in deep UV region, the middle UV and visible region. Each grating reflectivity can be up to 70% in their spectral region. Mainly used in high grade Raman spectroscopy measurement, such as UV-resonance Raman spectroscopy.

  • Earth Sensors

    Optical Energy Technologies, Inc.

The earth sensor is composed of four thermopile-optical assemblies viewing four fields of view through a single 13.5mm cut-on optical filter/window, as is shown in Figure 1. Each earth sensor measures the attitude of the spacecraft relative to its axis. For Pitch and Roll attitude readout, two sensors mounted 90° apart around the spacecraft’s yaw axis are required, as is shown in Figure 1. Each sensor is mounted such that the lower edges of its fields protrude 10° below the nominal earth horizon at the orbit altitude. The output of each field is a D.C. voltage proportional to the earth radiance multiplied by the solid angle subtended by the earth in that detector’s field. Two additional detectors are used to correct for earth radiance variation as a function of season and position in the orbit. One of these fields views cold space continually, while the other is always below the earth horizon and thereby measures the earth radiance in the vicinity of the spacecraft’s position in the orbit.
