    The most common detectors for low powers are photodiodes due to their good power resolution and fast response time. Light is absorbed in the material and converted into an electrical current proportional to the radiation power. Depending on the material composition, each wavelength results in a different signal and only a narrow bandwidth of wavelengths lead to an electric signal at all, as can be seen in the chart on the right. Besides the widely available Si, Ge and InGaAs are also used as photodetectors. The absorption characteristics of those two materials extend into the NIR spectrum, up to 1800 nm. When electrically biased appropriately, InGaAs can even absorb at higher wavelengths. All available photodiodes together cover a total range of UV, VIS, and NIR.

    The ASC-5216 is the smallest OEM electronics board Avantes offers. It can be used with the Sony (ILX511, ILX554B) and Toshiba (TCD-1304) CCD detectors. Featuring the same powerful 5126 Coldfire processor as used in the AS-5216, it's equipped with a Hirose ST60-36p connector. It has 12 programmable IO ports (3 DI, 9 DO), 2 analog out ports and 2 analog in ports. One digital out port is used for controlling the flash rate of an external Xenon strobe (AvaLight-XE), one digital out port is used to control external TTL-shutter devices, one digital output is reserved for external control for flashing a laser source in LIBS applications.     The N968 is a spectroscopy amplifier implemented in a one unit wide NIM module. It accepts the typical outputs generated from either optical feedback or resistor feedback preamplifiers connected with nuclear particle detectors. The output is quasi gaussian with 0 to +10 V output dynamics. A front panel switch allows to select between positive and negative input signals. Gain setting can be performed continuously in the 10 ÷ 1500 range, product of Coarse, Fine and Superfine Gain. Two internal jumpers allow to set a x 0.1 attenuation and a further x 2 amplification, thus extending the gain range to 1 ÷ 3000. The shaping time values are 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 6, 10 µs.

    The Keysight 83018A microwave system amplifier is a compact, off-the-shelf amplifier designed for systems designers and integrators. This amplifier provides power where you need it to recover system losses and to boost available power in RF and microwave ATE systems.
