A gauss meter displays electromagnetic wave measurements in Gauss (G), milliGauss (mG), milliTesla (mT) or microTesla (µT) units. A gauss meter can detect either static (DC) permanent (rare-earth) magnetic or dynamic (AC) electromagnetic fields (EMFs), or both. Thus, it is important to review the specifications of a gauss meter prior to purchase to ensure suitability for the intended application.Neodymium (NdFeB) permanent magnets are among the world's strongest and most widely used magnets. When testing magnets made of neodymium or other rare-earth elements, a gaussmeter or magnetometer capable of measuring DC magnetic fields is required. However, most electromagnetic fields encountered are generated by AC currents. Examples include electrical power lines, transformers and wiring for overhead lighting, solar panels and other electrical devices and equipment. Electromagnetic fields from electrical installations are believed to cause feelings of nervousness, anxiety and paranoia in EMF-sensitive human beings.Most gaussmeters offered by PCE Instruments can be calibrated and certified according to DIN ISO 9000 standards for an additional fee. The bench tests units of 12V and 24V; diagnoses the latest alternators and voltage regulators, which are controlled by car ECU; has ports to connect alternators of different brands and manufacturers: COM (LIN, BSS), P-D, DFM, D+, RLO, C, SIG. Diagnostics is carried out through load simulation of car consumers, change of rotation speed, sending of control signals (external control alternators), tracking of electrical characteristic. The Hawk® EMS is a wall or tripod-mounted radiation monitoring and alarm system designed for use with the Hawk® Radius dual sensor radiation probe. Each EMS System comes with a Hawk Radius Probe. The system is extremely energy efficient and can run for weeks on an internal 9 volt back-up battery if power fails. It is well suited for operating on a small solar panel, which is an optional accessory. The Hawk® EMS features two displays that show the radiation levels measured by each of the probe’s two detectors: the weatherized “pancake-style” Geiger-Mueller tube — which measures alpha (if configured for it), beta, low energy gamma, and x-radiation — and the energy-compensated gamma tube which measures penetrating gamma dose rate. The probe can be mounted next to the EMS system or outdoors, or in adjacent rooms on cables up to 100 ft in length. Standard cable is 3 meters in length. PCE Instruments
PCE-CPT 20 is a cupping tester, or coating flexibility tester, used for testing the adhesion, elongation and deformability of paints, lacquers, varnishes, powder coatings and other surface coatings on metal sheets. Used in manufacturing production, paint shop and quality control applications, the PCE-CPT 20 cupping tester aids in determining coating strength, durability and elasticity. A mandatory test in Qualicoat and QIB accredited quality control laboratories, a cupping test, also referred to as an Erichsen test or dent test, uses a spherical punch to deform a sample. This deformation results in a cup-like bulge. When using the PCE-CPT 20 to perform a cupping test in accordance with the ISO 1520 standard, the sample should be placed coating side up so that the 20 mm spherical punch presses against the uncoated underside of the metal sheet. The cupping test is terminated when small cracks and/or detachments are observed on the bulged part of the sample. The PCE-CPT 20 cupping tester's easy-to-read display shows the bulge deformation distances that can be used to determine the coating's flexibility rating.
