Fuel Display Unit Tester

Fuel Display Unit Test Bench is a compact table-top test bench with front panel controls, indications, built-in signal simulator and necessary power supply for testing the serviceability of Fuel Display Unit of Helicopter. FTB operates on 230 V AC and supplies 28 V DC power to FDU. FTB is housed in a metallic cabinet FTB interfaces with both 61 Pin connector and 6-pin socket mounted on the rear panel of FDU by means of the cable connected to the unit. FTB is fabricated utilizing off-the-shelf standard industrial/commercial components like rotary switches, toggle switches, press switches, test sockets, fuse holders, potentiometer etc. The Frequency generation circuit is integrated into FTB for the simulation of Fuel probe and flow rate signals. The frequency of the signal can be selected by means of a rotary switch Low amplitude sine wave signal is simulated for testing flow rates. Variable voltage DC power supply with a voltage range of 24 to 29 Volts is provided within FTB to power-up FDU. 5 V DC is provided for the operation of signal generating circuit (PIC Frequency Controller Board). An off-the-shelf Hand held battery operated Digital Multimeter (DMM) procured from the prominent manufacturer (FLUKE) is supplied with FTB for setting up and measurement of various parameters like Resistance, Voltage, Frequency etc.

ARINC825 Cards
AIM’s ARINC825 cards can work either with full functionality as an active CAN node for testing and simulating or in listening only mode for monitoring and recording purposes of Avionic CAN bus (ARINC825) applications on up to 4 electrically isolated CAN bus nodes concurrently. All nodes are in conformance with the ISO11898-1/-2 standard. They are accessible by software separately and can be used as 4 independent CAN bus nodes. An onboard IRIG-B time decoder allows users to accurately synchronize single or multiple modules to a common time source. All supported signals are available through front I/O and rear I/O interface. ARINC825 cards consist of FPGA based CAN interface controllers as well as a FPGA based 32-bit microcontroller core and a separate processor for IRIG-B synchronization with high resolution time stamping. All nodes are operating concurrently at CAN bus high speed bit rate of up to 1Mbit/s with the intelligence to process scheduling of CAN frames in real time onboard to significantly off-load the host processor.For embedded applications the AMC825-4 PMC module is available in a conduction cooled version. Using AIM’s family of PCI, CPCI (3U and 6U) and VMEbus carrier cards for PMC our clients have off the shelf solutions in a broad range of card formats. ARINC825 (CAN bus) modules are delivered with an Application Programming Interface (API) and Driver Software compatible with Windows, Linux and VxWorks.An ARINC825 Resource Component is available for AIM’s PBA.pro™ databus test and analysis tool including Tx and Rx simulation capabilities, a Chronological Bus Monitor and support for decoding of payload data within CAN messages. The EXC-9810/Ax is an Ethernet adapter supporting up to twenty ARINC-429 channels in any combination of transmit and/or receive. All of the channels feature error injection and detection.adapter. Its small size and ability to interface through Ethernet interfaces make it a complete solution for developing, testing and performing system simulation of the ARINC-429 bus, both in the lab and in the field.The receive channels allow for the storage of all selected labels with status and time tag information appended to each word, and also allow for filtering and multi-storage modes of data words. The transmit channels operate via a transmit ‘instruction stack’ which allows scheduling of data transmissions and reduces the need for host computer intervention. The EXC-9810 supports up to four independent 8000 family avionics communication modules, allowing multiple different protocols to be mixed and matched on a single card. Modules available include MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, MMSI, ARINC-429, ARINC-708, ARINC-717, Serial, Discrete and CAN bus. In addition, multiple units can operate on the same network, by programming each one with a unique IP address, and can be accessed from any computer on the network.The EXC-9810/Ax adapter is supplied with C drivers, including source code and may be used with Exalt, Excalibur’s Analysis and Laboratory Tools, a Windows monitoring application (only versions 8.1 or higher).
