Constant Temperature Anemometry (CTA) - Hot-Wire Anemometry - Thermal Anemometry
Constant Temperature Anemometry (CTA), also known as Thermal Anemometry, is a technique for the measurement of turbulence in 1, 2 or 3-dimensional gas and liquid flows, using hot-wire or hot-film probes inserted in the flow. CTA is particularly suitable for the measurement of flows with very fast fluctuations at a point (high turbulence) and the study of flow micro structures, where there is a need to resolve small flow eddies down to the order of tenths of a mm.

8-Zone SMT Reflow Oven
CR8000
A combination of 8 independently controlled full-convection heating zones (16), 2 cooling zones, and low-velocity, low turbulence air flow allows the CR8000 reflow oven to provide you with thermal accuracy of ±1°C and a ΔT of ±2°C across PCB assemblies to 22" (570 mm) wide. This high-performance model takes up less floorspace than comparable alternatives on the market and offers a throughput that can keep pace with even high-volume production requirements.

Airborne Gravimeter
GT-2A
The very large dynamic range provides high precision data even in turbulent flying conditions; data is acquired through short periods of saturation in extreme turbulence by the automatic application of a reduced order Kalman filter, enabling platform misalignment to be computed and hence controlled; the automatic calibration program computes accelerometer scale factors and errors in perpendicularity between the accelerometer sensitive axis and the platform surface. The GT-2A installation in a fixed wing aircraft is shown in Fig 1 (courtesy of Excalibur).

Phasecam Twyman-Green Laser Interferometers
PhaseCam dynamic Twyman-Green laser interferometers provide high resolution measurements despite vibration and air turbulence. Dynamic Interferometry® enables PhaseCam laser interferometers to capture full wavefront measurements in as little as 30 microseconds—5000 times faster than conventional phase shifting interferometers. Compact and lightweight, PhaseCams make reconfiguring test setups simple and easy, without vibration isolation.

Turbine Flow Meters
Axial turbine flow meters are designed with wear resistant internal components to provide trouble-free operation and a long service life. Fluid entering the flow meter is first conditioned by the inlet flow straightener which reduces turbulence in the fluid. The moving fluid causes the rotor to spin at a speed that is proportional to its flow rate. As the turbine blades on the rotor pass through the magnetic field of the pickup, an electronic pulse is generated.

High Sensitivity Pressure Sensors
High sensitivity ICP® pressure sensors are for low pressure measurements requiring excellent resolution and small size. They are used to measure small dynamic hydraulic and pneumatic pressures such as turbulence, noise, sound, and pulsations, especially in adverse environments. They are capable of measuring high-intensity sound pressures from 111 to 210 dB at any static pressure level from full vacuum to 1,000 psi (6,895 kPa).

Laser Doppler Anemometry
Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA), also known as Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV), is an optical technique ideal for non-intrusive 1D, 2D and 3D point measurement of velocity and turbulence distribution in both free flows and internal flows. Science and industry apply our LDA systems to gain a clearer understanding of fluid mechanics. The measurement results are important steps in fine-tuning product designs to improve aerodynamic efficiency, quality and safety.

wavefront sensor
HASO3 FAST
Our HASO3 Fast Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensors provide fast accurate and reliable measurements by uniting the standard HASO family's standard functionalities that customers have come to rely on, including absolute measurement, unequalled accuracy and insensitivity to vibration, with an acquisition speed of 905 Hz and a spatial resolution of 14 x 14 microlenses. When coupled with our HASOv3 software package, you can perform both zonal and modal wavefront reconstruction; calculate the PSF*, MTF* and Strehl ratio*; visualize the spot diagram; and obtain the M* parameter. Adaptive optics users can take advantage of our CASAO software package to control adaptive optics loops to compensate for atmospheric turbulence, optimize the focal spots of laser beams and Freespace communications.

Oil Tan Delta Tester
OTD
The Oil Tan Delta (OTD) is a laboratory instrument, which measures the Tan Delta, Resistivity and Relative Permittivity of insulating liquids. These tests give a wider picture of the overall quality of the insulating oil, and will indicate if there is any contamination. Megger has developed features of the OTD to ensure that productivity levels within laboratories are maximised. The microprocessor controlled inductive heater means that there is uniformity of temperature throughout the cell, in compliance with IEC 60247, and for cooling a fan effectively speeds up the cell cooling time. The instrument has a temperature measuring range of 10 to 110 C, with an accuracy of 1 C. It can be set to preheat before testing takes place. The automated oil drain facility negates the need to move the oil vessel. User safety is paramount and with this in mind, Megger have designed independent and dual redundant high voltage cut-off circuitry. If for any reason the user needs to abort the test, this can be done so by pressing any key, immediately terminating the test and removing the high voltage. The design of the cell components maximise oil fill rate but minimise turbulence in oil flow and eliminate trapping of air. With only 32 cell components, it is easy to assemble and disassemble.
