The SpaceWire PCI Mk2 is a 3 SpaceWire port interface device, which can also act as a router, that succeeds the successful SpaceWire PCI-2 card. New features include the introduction of a packet generator in the hardware. This allows the card to generate SpaceWire packets at high speeds without using the host PC’s resources. Similarly, a new packet checker has also been added to the hardware design. The high performance driver boasts a full API which allows the user to control all functions of the card, supporting C and C++. Both the API and board design are common across several other STAR-Dundee devices. This makes it easy and quick to migrate user application software across different platforms. The board also supports field upgrades, such that any future revisions or a requested customisation can be downloaded from the STAR-Dundee website and installed.

Phase is 14-bit programmable and amplitude is 10-bit programmable. Internal memory can store a sequence of settings. The -AC option is available to enable users to step through settings using an external trigger. It is accurate to 1.5 ppm using the on board TCXO timebase or you can use an external timebase, There is also a /R option that provides a way to lock to and track an external 10MHz frequency input. A line powered AC adapter and SOF8_409 windows software on a CD are included.

The Keysight N1231B PCI Three-Axis Laser Board with External Sampling is a register based PCI bus board that implements three axes of laser interferometer measurement for position monitoring and closed-loop servo control. There are four external sample inputs along with four data hold inputs that allow easy synchronization with user systems. Several threshold compare registers, with both hardware outputs and interrupt capability, can be used for travel limit and in window or out of window detection functions. The dual mode hardware position outputs, controlled by the hold inputs, provide either a 32-bits/axis parallel interface or a 36-bit multiplexed interface to the 36-bit axis position data at rates up to 20MHz. The user can programmatically access the externally sampled position and velocity data, as well as software sampled position and velocity data, over the PCI bus at rates up to 100kHz (3 axes of position and velocity) or 200kHz (position or velocity only).
