Luminescence Sensors
Luminescence sensors detect visible and non-visible marks that illuminate when using ultraviolet (UV) light. Fluorescent material and marks are reliably detected independently of their pattern, colors or surface conditions on any material. Luminescence sensors emit UV light with a wave length of approximately 375 nm. Fluorescent substances convert the UV light into long-wave visible light, which is then received and evaluated by the luminescence sensor.

UV Meters
USHIO developed a UV meter series to measure intensities of UV radiation. As an add-on, the temperature is also registered. You can decide between the high-end UV meter UIT-250, and UIT-201. The former has a wider measurement range, allows the measurement of energy doses and has the capability to transfer the data via a serial communication protocol to a PC. Various sensors are available. The most popular sensors have center wavelengths at 254 nm, 365 nm or 410 nm.

The SparkFun Triad Spectroscopy Sensor is a powerful optical inspection sensor also known as a spectrophotometer. Three AS7265x spectral sensors are combined alongside a visible, UV, and IR LEDs to illuminate and test various surfaces for light spectroscopy. The Triad is made up of three sensors; the AS72651, the AS72652, and the AS72653 and can detect the light from 410nm (UV) to 940nm (IR). In addition, 18 individual light frequencies can be measured with precision down to 28.6 nW/cm2 and accuracy of +/-12%. Utilizing our handy Qwiic system, no soldering is required to connect it to the rest of your system. However, we still have broken out 0.1"-spaced pins in case you prefer to use a breadboard.

SPECTRA flame sensors feature IR or UV detectors making them suitable for a wide variety of fuels, including coal, oil and gas. These units are 100% solid-state which enable the SPECTRA BC11 to be among the most compact industrial flame sensors available. There are no tubes or shutters to fail. Installation is simplified as the loop powered design only requires a single twisted pair cable for wiring connections. The 4-20 mA analog output provides direct connection to burner management systems eliminating the need for separate signal conditioners. High-temperature electronics enables the sensor to function at elevated operating temperatures.

*Pulse Characterization Sensors
Pulse Characterization Sensors provide the ability to see and measure the temporal characteristics of pulsed and CW laser beams. Ophir Fast Photodiode Detectors are designed to convert optical signals into electrical signals which are then measured with third-party instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers. Accessories are available to connect to IS6 integrating spheres or fiber optic cables. Attenuating filter accessories are also available to increase their dynamic range. Different models offer silicon, UV enhanced silicon and InGaAs PIN photodiodes, covering a combined spectral range of 193 nm to 1700 nm. Rise times range from 25 picoseconds to 3 nanoseconds. The fast rise times are achieved by an internal reverse bias voltage circuit. Power is supplied by internal batteries and/or an external power supply depending on the model. Detectors should be connected to a 50Ω impedance in order to maintain their nominal rise times. They can be connected to higher impedance loads, but this will result in a significant increase in the rise time. If higher output voltage is required, it is recommended to connect the detector to a trans-impedance amplifier with an Input impedance of 50Ω
