It measures cable resistance very accurately using the Kelvin 4-wire method. It also tests for shorts between pins at a low voltage. The next test is to measure insulation between connections at a higher voltage. This is carried out at up to 1500 Volts DC with resistances of 10 to 500 Meg ohms. The L, M and N Series is The VON Corporation’s fully automated, microprocessor controlled glove and sleeve tester. Units allow testing of Gloves, Sleeves, or Line Jumpers. All standard rubber goods can be tested, even class IV. All machine adjustments are controlled via a menu operated microprocessor control system. With a single selection the test voltage, current limit, depth, water fill level, test time, blower speed and exhaust fan speed are set. The operator is required to merely load gloves in the special clothespins, lower the test electrode into the glove and press the start button. Automated water fillers will fill the glove in less than 30 seconds. Tests are timed and an audible alarm sounds failures or test complete, with bright flashing colored lights signaling which position failed, or test complete. The –W option allows use of the VON Hammock method on all positions. An extra wide and long tank allows testing of the sholder portion of sleeves and allows 11” spacing between sleeves.
The Model 2430 1kW Pulse SourceMeter® offers the same DC source and measurement ranges as the Model 2425 100W SourceMeter, plus a unique 1kW pulse mode that extends the upper current limit to 10A. This mode makes the Model 2430 ideal for measuring the breakdown voltage of many types of high-power devices, including multi-layer varistors (MLVs) and semiconductor components. During production testing of these devices, breakdown voltage is often measured under a high current pulse of up to 10A. The Model 2430 combines programmable bipolar voltage and current sourcing of up to 10A @ 100V (pulsed) with all the high-speed testing capabilities common to the Series 2400 family. The Model 2430 can be programmed to produce individual pulses or pulse trains up to 5ms wide and with varying duty cycle on most source ranges. Pulses up to 2.5ms long and an 8% duty cycle can be programmed on the instrument's 1kW range. When combined with a PC controller and the appropriate switching hardware, the Model 2430 provides an economical, high-throughput solution for high-power device testing, all in one compact, half-rack box. Other solutions offering compatible capabilities, such as discrete semiconductor component testers, typically cost four times as much as the Model 2430 and require significantly more rack space.
Anritsu Company introduced a tri-wavelength OTDR module for its Network Master Pro MT1000A portable optical tester that provides field engineers and technicians with a comprehensive test tool to verify fiber lines in core, metro, and mobile networks. The new module supports high dynamic range at all wavelengths, including 1625 nm, which allows the MT1000A to conduct “extra sensitive” tests to ensure the performance of today’s high-bandwidth networks. With the new MU100022A-022 tri-wavelength OTDR module installed, the Network Master Pro MT1000A can achieve dynamic range of 46 dB at 1310 and 1550 nm, and 44 dB at 1625 nm. Supporting the high dynamic range at the 1625 nm wavelength allows the MT1000A to achieve highly accurate macrobend detection in all single-mode fiber applications. This new OTDR module also features Anritsu’s Fiber Visualizer, a fault location function that simplifies the entire testing process. Fiber Visualizer automatically selects the testing parameters to ensure the proper setup and provides a simple, graphical summary of the fiber under test within seconds. Fiber Visualizer also has individualized PASS/FAIL analysis to simplify fiber optic testing.
