IP-OCTALPLUS232 implements eight EIA-232 asynchronous serial ports, each with RXD, TXD, RTS, and CTS signals. In addition, two ports also have DCD, DTR, DSR, and RI signals. The serial ports are implemented with two Exar ST16C654 quad UARTs. Each channel has two 64-character FIFOs to allow longer interrupt servicing latencies.
